About one third of the sewage from The Hague and surroundings is purified in this wastewater treatment plant. The water is cleaned in several steps, after which it flows into the sea. The residue (sludge) is usable and special fermentation tanks enable the biogas to be recovered from this residue. Biogas is produced in the tanks and digestate remains. This biogas is used in one or more gas engines to generate and produce both heat and electricity.
– Biogas plant with CHP
– 4 gas engines running on biogas, 1,200 kW electric power
– System control and assembly by Topec
– Placement in own engine room in permanent building
